How to control your stream delay from a Stream Deck

Mid-match is the worst time to alt-tab. Put your delay on a button instead.

Updated

Make a button

  1. In InstantClone, open Integrations and add one with the trigger A button.
  2. Add a Delay action step and choose what the button does.
  3. On the trigger, press Make an address, then Copy. It looks like http://127.0.0.1:7799/hooks/your-token.
  4. In the Stream Deck app, add a Website action, paste the address and turn on GET request in background.
  5. Press the button and check the dashboard reacts.

Integrations are still labelled experimental in the app.

Which buttons to make

  • Arm: sets the delay to the seconds you choose and starts filling the buffer.
  • Toggle: turns the delay on or off.
  • Cut: back to live now.
  • Cut after this airs: back to live once what just happened has reached viewers. Good for the end of a match.

Or use hotkeys

On Windows, InstantClone's global hotkeys fire even while a fullscreen game has focus, so a keyboard shortcut works too. Not set up yet? Start with the setup guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Stream Deck plugin?

No, and you don't need one. A plain Website action calling the button's address does the job.

Does it work with Bitfocus Companion?

Yes. The address takes any HTTP request, GET or POST, so anything that can send one can press the button.

Do I need my dashboard password in the address?

No. The address carries its own secret token, which is why you should keep it private, like a password.

My button does nothing. How do I check it?

Look at the dashboard after pressing it. The address answers OK even for a wrong token, so an OK from it doesn't prove the button did anything. If nothing moved, copy the address again.

Try it on your next stream.

Free and open source. Download it, run it, and the dashboard opens in your browser.
