## InstantClone

InstantClone is a free, open-source (GPL-3.0) stream delay app for OBS Studio, and for Streamlabs Desktop as an experimental feature. It sits between your streaming app and Twitch, YouTube, Kick or any RTMP server, holds the stream for as long as you choose, and lets you change or remove that delay while you are live, without restarting the stream.

- What it is: A stream delay you can change while live
- Works with: OBS Studio, and Streamlabs Desktop (experimental)
- Streams to: Twitch, YouTube, Kick or any RTMP server
- Runs on: Windows 10 and 11, Linux x86-64
- Price: Free, no account or trial
- License: Open source, GPL-3.0
- Memory: Under 10 MB of RAM, even streaming 1080p60
- Install: One download, or winget on Windows
- Latest: v0.1.18, October 2026

### What it does

- Change or remove stream delay while live, without restarting OBS
- Twitch, YouTube and Kick at once, each with its own settings
- Crash protection: a reconnect screen keeps the stream live when OBS crashes
- Integrations: Discord alerts, Twitch chat commands, phone pushes, highlight clips and an on-air light
- A block builder for your own integrations, with If, Then and Otherwise
- Vertical 9:16 output for TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Kick mobile
- Streamlabs Desktop support (experimental, Windows): go live from Streamlabs with Enhanced Broadcasting and the Twitch VOD Track
- Every OBS on the PC, installed and portable, side by side
- Install and update with winget

### Install

- Windows: download from https://s1moscs.dev/instantclone, or run `winget install Soulhackzlol.InstantClone`
- Linux: download the x86-64 binary from https://s1moscs.dev/instantclone, `chmod +x` it and run it
- Every release ships SHA-256 checksums: https://github.com/Soulhackzlol/InstantClone/releases/tag/v0.1.18

### Limits

- No macOS build yet.
- Streamlabs Desktop support is experimental and Windows only (tested on Streamlabs 1.21.9).
- Not code-signed yet, so Windows may warn on first launch.

### Questions

### Can I change my stream delay without restarting OBS?

Yes. OBS locks its delay in when the stream starts, so changing it there means stopping and going live again. InstantClone sits between OBS and your platforms instead, so you can raise, lower or clear the delay while you are on air and your stream never drops.

### Can I remove the delay while live, not just add it?

Yes, it goes both ways. Take the delay back down whenever you want and the stream snaps to real time in a single frame, with no glitch and no reconnect for your viewers.

### Is it really free?

Free and open source under GPL-3.0, with no account, no trial and no sign-up. The whole source is on GitHub, so you can read exactly what runs on your machine, or build it yourself.

### Does it stop stream snipers?

That is what most people use it for. With a delay running, anyone watching your stream is seeing the past, so they cannot use it to find you in Valorant, CS2 or any other game. You can add delay the moment a game gets sniped and drop it again when the round is over.

### Can my stream stay live if OBS crashes?

Yes, with crash protection on (it is off until you turn it on). If OBS crashes, freezes or loses its connection, your platforms get a reconnect screen instead of going offline, for up to the time you pick, from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. When OBS comes back, the stream carries on over the same connection, so viewers never see it end.

### Which platforms does it work with?

One OBS feed goes out to Twitch, YouTube and Kick at the same time, each destination with its own settings. Anything that takes an RTMP key works, so it is not limited to those three.

### Does it work with Streamlabs?

Yes, with Streamlabs Desktop on Windows, as an experimental feature since 0.1.18. Connect Streamlabs once from InstantClone, then go live from Streamlabs' own Go Live button: the stream goes through InstantClone with the delay, and Enhanced Broadcasting and the Twitch VOD Track keep working. Streamlabs signs in with Twitch, but InstantClone can send the stream to YouTube, Kick or any RTMP, with or without a Twitch destination.

### Will it slow down my game?

It should not. InstantClone is a native app built in Rust, and in Task Manager it uses about 2.5 MB of RAM idle and 3.5 to 4 MB while streaming 1080p60, even with a 30-second delay running, because the delay is kept on disk rather than in memory. It stays under 10 MB.

### How do I install it?

Download it for Windows or Linux from this page and run it: there is no installer, and the dashboard opens in your browser. On Windows, winget install Soulhackzlol.InstantClone works too. Either way, the Update now button in the app keeps it current.

### Does it work on a Mac?

Not yet. InstantClone runs on Windows 10 and 11 and on Linux x86-64. Streamlabs support is Windows only, like Streamlabs itself.

### Why does Windows warn me when I open it?

The app is not code-signed yet, because a certificate costs money the project does not take in. Windows shows that warning for any unsigned app. Every release ships with a SHA-256 checksum you can verify, and the source is public.
